Lightning Sailing Series (LVOSS), racing on Tuesday nights, is one half of our one-design sailing fleets.While still relatively new at SSYC, the fleet has been around for decades. This 19-foot trailerable centerboard sloop was designed by Sparkman & Stephens as an affordable family day-sailor and racing boat. She has evolved into one of the most popular and competitive one-design racing classes in the world. Awarded ISAF International Class status, the Lightning is sailed in more than 13 countries and in the Pan American Games, and the class provides a professionally managed association that is among the largest in all of one-design sailing. VX ONE Fleet (LVOSS) is our newest (as of 2023) one-design sailing fleet. The VX ONE is a fresh and exciting sport one-design for two to three people racing.  The VX offers sailors from Junior to Advanced a vehicle for perpetual enjoyment of performance sailing in an affordable, durable, and technically advanced package and is raced internationally.
